Fucked Politics is a new project. Here’s how we handle information, your data, and our own mistakes.

How we treat information

We rate specific claims against what each side reported and the public record behind it: a filing, a statute, a data release, a transcript. Every source is linked. A rating is our best reading of the record when we published it, not the last word. Open the sources and check for yourself.

How we treat your data

We collect as little as we can. When you upvote a story, we store a scrambled code made from your IP address and browser so the same person can’t vote twice. We never store the IP itself. When you answer a reader poll, your browser keeps a random ID that isn’t tied to your IP address, and we store that ID with your answer. Your browser also remembers which stories you’ve voted on, on your own device. When you submit a claim or challenge a verdict, we keep what you type in the form. All of it lives with our host, Netlify, and is used only to run this site. We don’t sell it or share it.

Mistakes and growth

This is a new, growing platform, and we’ll get things wrong. When we do, tell us. Accepted corrections are listed on the corrections page.
